In today’s class, the most interesting thought was hearing how contradictory Martin Luther seemed to be. On one hand, he was not opposed to the division of Church & State, believing that the religious beliefs resided within one’s inner conscience. On another hand, he led one of the most radical changes and reformations (well, THE REFORMATION) in history! Also, he did believe that one had to be ordained to administer sacraments, but yet he believed adamantly in the “priesthood of all believers.” To me, this seems contradictory.
